MMG rapper and Washington D.C. native Wale recently exchanged fire on Twitter with former “I Love New York” reality star David “Punk” Otunga.

Otunga started the back-and-fourth tweeting, “So Wale adds Rihanna to the remix of “Bad” and she overshadows him in the song? #RappersLuckyKendrickMentionedThem.” Continue reading

Ex-Bear Terrell arrested on battery, drug charges in Bronzeville

Former Chicago Bears wide receiver David Terrell was charged Friday with having marijuana and battering officers in the Bronzeville neighborhood, officials said.

Officers responding about 1:20 p.m. Friday to a call of people smoking marijuana in a building in the 3900 block of South Calumet found Terrell and two others with cannabis and “materials to package and distribute narcotics” in plain view, police said.

Terrell allegedly struck an officer’s hand during an interview and “resisted and attempted to defeat the arrest,” police said. A second officer also suffered a hand injury while taking Terrell into custody. Continue reading

The transition from professional football the life after the game can be difficult for many players, and none more so that those who face an uncertain future with the aftereffects of head injuries suffered during their time between the lines. Former NFL running back Dorsey Levens has combined two concerns to try and so some good. Levens, who played in the NFL from 1994 through 2004 with the Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Giants, has become very involved in film and theater over the last few years. He’s now working on a documentary called “Bell Rung,” about the post-football concussion effects athletes must endure. To extend the movie from 48 minutes to the projected final length of 90 minutes, Levens has turned to the increasingly popular method of crowd-funding. Continue reading

Robin Thicke, T.I., And Pharrell Sue Marvin Gaye Estate Over ‘Blurred Lines’ Song

Recording industry mega-stars Robin Thicke (pictured left), T.I. (Clifford Harris, Jr., pictured center), and Pharrell Williams (pictured) have reportedly come together to file a lawsuit against Marvin Gaye’s (pictured below) family and Bridgeport Music, which owns a few of Funkadelic’s compositions, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  The trio of artists, who perform and appear in the summer monster hit “Blurred Lines,” are accused of ”copying” Gaye’s “Got To Give It Up” and Funkadelic’s “Sexy Ways” in the song.
