3 Year Anniversary of #BringBackOurGirls Shows it was More Of A Trend than A Campaign

The hashtag and meme were sent out all over the internet by almost everyone including influential people like Michelle Obama and the Pope. Instead of the publicity putting pressure on the group, it caused them to use the girls as leverage when negotiating their demands. Beyond that, after the initial interest from people around the world; the subject has faded away. You rarely hear people talk about the girls, even though they still are captive. There are no hashtags or public outcry anymore. Like most things that happen today, people latch on to them when they are trending. It becomes more of a bandwagon thing, as opposed to having sincere concern for a cause. So three years later; do you still want them to bring the girls back?
