I learned from attending last year that early arrival is not only suggested but recommended. For a change, I made it somewhere on time and I’m glad I did. This year started with guest DJ’s playing classic Hip Hop and R&B songs. When the crowd settled in, they got treated with performances from some well known Chicago artists. Grammy award winner poet J. Ivy kicked things off with some dope spoken word.
Mike Flo and Twilight Tone also blessed the stage with some Chicago Hip Hop.
