CF4L 5 Steps to detoxing your body naturally.  For 7 days starting Feb 22nd –Feb 29th join the Chicago Fit 4 Life team in detoxing our bodies and getting in the best shape of your life!

  1.  Sleep:  Sleeping causes your body to go into a state of cleansing and regeneration. Without proper and sufficient sleep, detoxification organs don’t get the full recharge they need to function at optimal levels. Aim for 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night, in a dark, noiseless environment for optimal results for 7 days.
  2. Fruit:  In particular, things like oranges, lemons, and limes aid the body in flushing out toxins and jump starting the digestive tract with enzymatic processes. Lemon juice aids the liver in its cleansing processes. Try starting each morning with a warm glass of lemon water for 7 days.
  3. Vegetables:  Green plants will help give a chlorophyll-boost to your digestive tract and are very cleansing to your system. Other foods like: Onions, carrots, artichokes, asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, kale, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, beet, turmeric, and oregano are great to help cleanse the body. These are high in naturally occurring sulphur and glutathione. Sulphur helps the liver detoxify harmful chemicals. It’s important to add raw veggies to your diet, as the digestive enzymes are very beneficial in the natural detox process.  End every day with a colorful salad for 7 days.
  4. Professional Colon Cleanse:  Every substance that goes into our mouths ends up in our colons, where our bodies absorb nutrients, as well as any pollutants that came along for the ride. Though enemas and colon cleanses may seem uncomfortable or strange, cleaning the colon on a regular basis is considered by many experts to be an essential action to take in maintaining an internally clean, healthy environment. Colonics may not be for everyone, so a high-quality colon cleanser could be the preferred choice.  Try to schedule yours toward the end of the 7 day detox.
  5. Half a gallon of water:  Drinking water helps cleanse your body flushing out potential harmful toxins through your urinary tract. Some say the water detox-cleanse is one of the best way to detox your body without affecting your diet.  Not all weight loss methods are clean. That is to say, just because you lose weight doesn’t mean the way you achieved it is clean leaving little influence on the amount of toxins being held up by your body. Only drinking water, you can get the clean feel you need when you are trying to lose weight and detox at the same time.  Never drink more than a cup in one sitting & pace yourself taking 9-10 water breaks throughout the day.

Foods to Avoid:  Heavier foods like meat, dairy, beans, and even most grains will slow down, or even stop the detoxification process, so be Ted Cruz like or very conservative with these foods if you really want to experience results.  Make sure to always avoid refined foods, sugars, MSG, yeast, dairy products, caffeine and chocolate, soy, peanuts, alcohol and non-whole-grain starches while doing our 7 day detox.
