5th Annual Timbuck2 Forever Continues to Provide Entertainment, Unity and Health Awareness

Timbuck2

Timbuck2’s whose real name was Timothy Francis Jones was only 34 years old when he died of cancer in 2015. He was not only a DJ but a radio personality and Hip Hop curator of a weekly event that allowed the Hip Hop community to come together and hang out, enjoy music and network. His death sparked the beginning of the Timothy Francis Jones Foundation which brings health awareness to the Black community and contributes to cancer research.

The foundation spearheaded by his mom Bernadette Jones not only teaches the importance of being healthy but continues the tradition of the Hip Hop event that Timbuck2 started with his parties at the Beauty Bar.

Mrs. Jones spoke to the crowd about her son and encourage everyone to start and continue to go to the doctor regularly. She was also presented with a check from host Dave Jeff and Puma who donated to the foundation. In addition to the donation, Puma also unveiled the Timbuck2 signature sneaker.

Beginning the show was a set from DJ JayiLLa, who rocked the crowd with some classic Hip Hop songs.

Following the DJ set there were performances by local Chicago artists Nic Junior, Mother Nature, Project Mania, (I think that was their name) Rockie Fresh and Mikkey Halsted.
