As previously reported, Rose filed a trademark on the name Ace of Diamonds, as well as the abbreviation “AoD,” and has formed a corporation called Ace of Diamonds, Inc. According to the legal documents, the trademark will be for “entertainment services in the nature of live dance performances” and “gentlemen’s clubs featuring exotic dancing.”
Back in February, the trademark had yet to be approved and the executives at Ace of Diamonds sued Rose for $1M.
Well, according to new reports, Rose’s trademark bid just got rejected because it would cause confusion in the industry since both Ace of Diamonds and Ace of Emeralds already exist.
Court documents reportedly claim that part of the reason Rose’s trademark bid was rejected was because of the precedent set with other trademarks with similar names to established brands. For instance, a brand like Mister Stain would be too similar to Mister Clean and Tuna O’ the Farm would be too close to Chicken of the Sea.
Luckily for Rose, she has six months to reapply for the trademark with a more compelling argument. However, considering how this last trademark case went it looks like Rose is going to be fighting for a while to get that Ace of Diamonds name.
