The Supreme Court has chosen to expand police authority when it comes to searches, according to a report by The Free Thought Project. The court ruled 6-3 to allow law enforcement to enter and search a home without a warrant with the consent of a single occupant, even if an occupant previously denied access. The ruling stems from a Los Angeles Police Department arrest that occurred in 2009.
