Amtrak Train Derails in Tacoma, At Least 6 Fatalities and Multiple Injuries Reported

Amtrak train 501, which departed shortly before 8 a.m. local time from Tacoma, Washington, Monday morning (Dec. 18), derailed on an overpass, with at least two train cars falling onto the highway and cars below. Multiple fatalities and injuries have been reported; there are no official numbers but first responders are treating it as a mass casualty.
