Art Auction on Jan. 30th is Final Chapter for Ebony, Jet & Johnson Publishing

The last remaining assets of value for Johnson Publishing Company will be going up for auction on Jan.30th at an art gallery in New York.  The publishing company that once owned Ebony and Jet Magazine will sell the artwork that once was on the walls of their office in downtown Chicago. “It was very much part of the fabric of the building and the culture there,” said Nigel Freeman, the director of African-American Fine Art for Swann Auction Galleries in New York, which will be holding the auction. “It’s a significant art collection.” To read more about this story click here.
