Black Man Faces Life in Prison after Getting Convicted of Killing NYC Jogger

The case involving the death of New York City jogger Katrina Vetrano, 30 is over. Chanel Lewis, 22 was convicted on Monday (04.01.19)  of sexual abusing and strangling Vetrano to death in 2016. Lewis was arrested in 2017 and had went to court in 2018. However the case was declared a mistrial after the jurors couldn’t agree on verdict. This time around it took the jurors around five hours of deliberating to come up with the guilty verdict. Defense attorneys for Lewis argued that his confession was coerced by the police and Vetrano’s father tainted evidence at the crime scene. Lewis could  be facing life in prison without the possibility for parole.  To read more about this story click here.
