I guess the current wave for Hip Hop artists is to drop short albums. First Pusha T dropped a short seven-song album called Daytona, Kanye West followed up with his own seven-song album named Ye, and right after that Black Thought + 9th Wonder released a five-song album titled Streams of Thought. Dealing with the latter two, it seems Ye could have more songs, and Streams of Thought should have more songs. To elaborate on that thought, Kanye’s album felt like a body of work that you wanted to hear more songs, and Black Thought and 9th’s joint felt like you needed to hear more songs.
