The art form was deeply rooted in originality, lyrical prowess, versatility, a deep appreciation for music, and a greater responsibility to the community. The REC CENTER is the embodiment of these timeless attributes. They have sold out many legendary venues in Chicago such as Subterranean, Double Door, Joe’s, The Abby Pub, Metro, and other spots in between. The group has graced the stage in opening for major acts such as Wu Tang members U God & Shyhiem, The Beat Nutz, Public Announcement, & K-Solo of Hit Squad fame.
K-Solo was so impressed with the group that he decided to executive produce their first full length release, “Lonely People”. After an extended hiatus of growth and musical maturation, the REC has since solidified their comeback in unison with the RECognize movement.
After the spring 2012 release of the first installment of the EP trilogy “RECognize”, the REC CENTER brand has rapidly spread throughout the local underground scene to the national and international underground scene as well.
