20. Goodie Mob
- Soul Food(1995)
- Still Standing(1998)
- World Party(1999)
- One Monkey Don’t Stop No Show(2004)
- Age Against the Machine(2013)
The Goodie Mob’s first album Soul Food in my opinion is one of the best Hip Hop albums of all time. I actually got a chance to interview Big Gipp and ask him about the impact of that album. In addition to their first album, their second one Still Standing was dope also. I remember being in Atlanta with my friends when Still Standing came out and replaying the song They Don’t Dance No Mo over and over.
19. 8Ball & MJG
- Comin’ Out Hard(1993)
- On the Outside Looking In(1994)
- On Top of the World(1995)
- In Our Lifetime(1999)
- Space Age 4 Eva(2000)
- Living Legends(2004)
- Ridin’ High(2007)
- Ten Toes Down(2010)
Didn’t receive as much commercial success as other big name groups of the 90’s,but in terms of respect; they are one of the best Hip Hop groups of all time. You can still put on their classic song “Lay It Down” in a party and people will go wild.
18. Whodini
- Whodini(1983)
- Escape(1984)
- Back in Black(1986)
- Open Sesame(1987)
- Bag-a-Trix(1991)
- Six(1996)
Years before Jay-Z came out with 4:44, Whodini was dropping adult contemporary rap. I always thought their music was mature, sensible and dope. I don’t think they get their just due in terms of being one of the best groups of all time. Not to mention they were one of the first Hip Hop artists to go platinum with their second album Escape. Their third album went gold and had one of my favorite songs of all time on there “One Love.”
