Black Truth News Top Ten NBA Players for 2021 Playoffs/Season

Small Forwards

LEBRON JAMES

Points: 25.0

Rebounds: 7.7

Assists: 7.8

A few years ago, I declared that LeBron James reign as the best player in the NBA was over. I think I said Anthony Davis was the most complete player in the NBA. I believe I said Kevin Durant was the best offensive player. I know after Kawhi Leonard’s team won the championship a couple seasons ago I wrote that he was the best in the league. Now it’s time to man up and give the “king” his crown back. The same formula that I used to put Kawhi at the top, is the same one that will apply to LBJ. He was the best player on the team that won the NBA championship. On top of that, even if he isn’t the same player that he was, he is still a cut above everyone else.

KEVIN DURANT

Points: 26.9

Rebounds: 7.1

Assists: 5.6

They have KD listed as a power forward on ESPN, but I’m still going to put him in my small forward slot. I know he didn’t play last season. I also know he missed quite a few games this season. Despite all of that, there still isn’t another player that I would trust in the playoffs to carry my team. He has proven that he is unstoppable on the offensive side of the ball.

Power Forwards

GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO

Points: 28.1

Rebounds: 11.0

Assists: 5.9

Whenever Giannis Antetokounmpo can translate his regular season dominance into postseason success for his team, will be the time I crown him as the best in the league. It’s not that he freezes up or doesn’t have good games in the playoffs. It’s just he hasn’t figured out how to combat against teams who have designed successful schemes to slow him down. He has the talent and all the physical gifts to get it done. He just doesn’t have enough weapons in his arsenal to make it happen yet.
