I haven’t found myself anticipating an album as much as Freddie Gibbs and Madlib’s Piñata in a long time. Ever since heard the single “Thuggin” which was released last year; I have been thirsty for the rest of the catalog. The album contains 17 tracks, which were produced by the incredible Madlib. His beats are like songs by themselves, but with Freddie spitting fire over the tracks it feels like you enter a new galaxy of hip hop. Or better yet it’s like traveling in a time machine; back to a time in Hip Hop where the emphasis was placed on making a great album.
