Jesus Christ said he would be in the grave three days and three nights as a sign of who he was
If Jesus said he would be in the grave; then that’s exactly what he means. This would actually take Good Friday off the table because you can’t get three days and three nights from Good Friday to Easter Sunday in know arithmetic.
“For Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” (St. Matthew 12:40)
Now I want you to count for yourself three days from Friday and what day you come up with.
“And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.” (Mark 15:25)
“And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land.” (Mark 15:33)
It’s impossible to get three days and three nights from Friday to Sunday. I mean Jesus didn’t die on Friday nor rose on Sunday.
