Calvin’s Undisputed Truth: “Grace Does Not Exclude” Us From God’s Law

It was God’s grace-unmerited favor-that brought us back from the dead.

Saved by grace; what a comforting thought. We did not have to earn it; buy it; or steal it. Salvation was a gift given the moment we surrendered our hearts to Jesus Christ and were washed in his blood.

“This only would I learn of you: received ye the spirit by the works of the law or by the hearing of faith.” (Galatians 3:2)

We have literally been given a second chance at life. We didn’t deserve it not by any means for our works. But it doesn’t matter God gave it anyway.

“Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law being made a curse for us: for it is written; Cursed is every one that hangeth on A tree.” (Galatians 3:13)

Note that Jesus Christ paid our debt for sin on the cross and took away the sacrificing of animals by his death on the cross. We were dead in our sins because we broke the Law of Gods Ten Commandments. We were doomed to spend eternity in the fiery pits of hell. That is until the miracle of grace showered over our souls. We were redeemed and brought with a price specifically the blood that was shed by Jesus Christ. He paid our sin debt for us.
