If you were online at all last week, you probably heard of Yo, an app that raised a staggering $1.2 million in seed money. As someone who doesn’t know too much about raising money for phone apps, this sounded pretty impressive—until I learned what Yo actually is. Although it’s billed as a social networking platform, its function is to just send “Yo’s” to other Yo users.
