Is cutting little girls genitals an act of religious freedom?


A Detroit federal courtroom will be deciding the limits of religious freedom in a case involving members of the Dawoodi Bohra, a small Indian-Muslim sect in Farmington Hills Michigan. The question that has been raised is the cutting of little girls genitals a constitutional right? That question arise from two 7 year old girls who underwent a procedure February. The mothers who brought them in have argued that it is was a moral and religious decision. Furthermore they say no harm was done during the procedure. The outcome of the case will determine the flexibility of the First Amendment and constitutional rights. To read more about this story click here.

Mormon Church to Start Its Own Boy Scouts Program


The Mormon church announced that it will be pulling 185,000 troops from the Boy Scouts of America program. The church said teenagers between the ages of 14-18 will no longer participate in BSOA. To read more about this story click here.
