Chance The Rapper dropped off four new tracks for fans last night. Chano released “65th & Ingleside”, “Wala Cam”, “Work Out”, and “I Might Need Security.” In the track, “I Might Need Security,” Chance reveals that he is now a local Chicago media mogul with the line, “I bought the Chicagoist just to run you racist b****** outta business.”

The Chicagoist is a local Chicago news, food, and culture website which has laid dormant since November 2017. The announcement was confirmed with a tweet from WYNC, the public station that owned the Chicagoist’s assets, “It’s official, @ChancetheRapper has acquired the @Chicagoist from WNYC. Hear it from him in his new song “I Might Need Security.”

Chance made the following statement on the purchase to the Gothamist, the Chicagoist’s sister-site:

“I’m extremely excited to be continuing the work of the Chicagoist, an integral local platform for Chicago news, events and entertainment,” the rapper said in the statement. “WNYC’s commitment to finding homes for the ‘ist’ brands, including Chicagoist, was an essential part of continuing the legacy and integrity of the site. I look forward to re-launching it and bringing the people of Chicago an independent media outlet focused on amplifying diverse voices and content.”
