Charlie, 48, and 24-year-old Brett have been dating since last year, and Charlie proposed on Valentine’s Day of 2014, according to E! Online. The couple was first rumored to be dating in November 2013.
“Yes! We are engaged!” Brett tells E! News. “He even was a gentleman and got down on one knee.” Charlie had claimed last month that he and Brett had gotten married, but that turned out to be a joke.
“I was not expecting it at all,” Brett continues. “We had a beautiful Valentine’s day, and he proposed to me early this morning after we watched the sun rise.”
Brett says that Charlie’s engagement ring is stunning. “The ring is classic and beautiful, but I don’t have any photos to share just yet,” she adds. “This is the happiest moment of both our lives. He’s my best friend and my soulmate.”
Wow! We never expected Charlie to be such a sentimentalist. And we hope that this marriage goes better than Charlie’s previous marriages to Donna Peele, Denise Richards, and Brooke Mueller. He was also engaged to actress Kelly Preston in 1990, but the two broke it off shortly after Charlie accidentally shot Kelly in the arm. Oops.
