Angie Thomas’s bestselling book ‘The Hate U Give’ will be transferred to the big screen this fall. The film will be starring Regina Hall, Common, Issa Rae and Amandla Stenberg as the lead character. The book was applauded for tackling the issue of police brutality and other social issues. “I think the movie, in a lot of ways, will be cathartic, especially for people who are dealing with this every single day. I think this is an experience that will heal in a lot of ways. And it’s going to open more eyes,” Thomas said. The movie trailer debuted during the BET Awards last month. Check it out below
