Company recalls potentially tainted beef sent to New York restaurant

Missouri-based Fruitland American Meat is recalling a total of 4,012 pounds of beef, some of which was sent to an unnamed restaurant in New York, over concerns it may contain cattle parts that can carry mad cow disease, the USDA said. No one has reported becoming ill from the meat, which was also distributed to an eatery in Kansas City, Mo., and a Whole Foods distribution center in Connecticut.
