The Don Cannon and Mikkey Halsted show at the Shrine in Chicago gave confirmation to my belief that Chicago has some of the best emcees in the country. Some may counter that with the emergence of Chief Keef and the GBE crew that Chicago hasn’t been a hotbed for creativity and original content; but a trip to underground Hip Hop venues like Subterranean or the Rap Factory and you will see a wide range of styles from different artist.
