Cubs Selling Ivy Leaves from 2016 Season for $200 Each

According to Darren Rovell of ESPN, the Cubs are planning to sell the ivy leaves that surround the outfield wall at Wrigley Field from the 2016 season. They are reportedly going for $200 apiece plus $15 shipping.

Although the leaves are usually thrown out at the end of the season when the ivy turns red, the team instead collected them after the 2016 season. There are now 2,106 total leaves to sell, with each customer allowed to purchase no more than 10.

There is no shortage of memorabilia available celebrating the Cubs’ magical run to the title, from plaques to bobbleheads to rings, although buying dead leaves might be a bit much.

Considering an estimated five million people were in attendance at the victory parade down the streets of Chicago, however, there are likely enough people to take the team up on its offer.
