Demi Lovato, John Legend, Meghan Trainor and Luke Bryan Unite to Honor Lionel Richie at 2016 Grammy Awards

The vocally-gifted pack will unite, courtesy of the Recording Academy, to honor Richie at the 2016 Grammy Awards. Which means we only have to wait a few more days to witness the symphonic glory that is sure to overtake the show’s 58th round.

The Academy’s goal? Other than leaving us dumbfounded, if not entirely unsure of our own affecting musical talents, the show makers would like to unite industry giants across the musical stage, so to speak: namely, pop, country and R&B. Suffice it to say the selection crew has done their job.

And while we may have to wait until the show airs Monday to experience the wonder of the herd’s collective silvery vocals, we can only imagine just how history-making this performance may be as Richie’s chorus—as we will dub them—melodiously escorts us through an epic of the song master’s best.

And so it seems this year’s show, hosted by the coolest of cool music industry vets (and fifth-time Grammy host) LL Cool J, will be one to remember. At least for Richie. Who will, by the way, also join his bevy of fellow pros on stage to perform a TBD rendition of one of his classics. Oh, and the performance will also mark a Grammy debut for Demi, Luke and Meghan.

The show may be long, but given it’s impressive lineup, you can be certain we will be watching. All night long. Or at least until the show wraps. And then after, for Fashion Police.

The 58th Annual Grammy Awards air CBS Monday at 8 p.m.
