Denzel Washington’s Movie ‘Fences’ Sheds Light on the Brilliance of August Wilson

Denzel’s Washington’s new movie ‘Fences’ opens in theaters today around the country. The movie is an adaptation of August Wilson’s play of the same name. A lot of people don’t know who August Wilson was and that makes this movie that much more important. His plays was more than entertainment, but more of a history lesson on the Black experience in America. Each play chronicles a specific time period; starting in 1904 with the play Gem of the Ocean and ending in 1997 with the play Radio Golf.
