What was your inspiration for “Michael”?
The inspiration for “Michael” really came from reading Dante’s Inferno and Paradise Lost and having an overall fascination with the mythology of angels and demons. At that point in making the Demonology album, I was getting the feeling that I was surrounding myself with too much darkness and this was my way of bringing back some light. Michael being the general of God’s Army, the angel that sent Lucifer to Hell, made me feel like I was giving the album a sort of spiritual cleansing.
