Ed Lover Calls Kanye West the Ultimate Troll and Talks about 2Pac

With that said, I was excited to see Ed Lover just chilling at a party. It was surprising for me to see him in the cut with his friends and no one coming up to ask him for a picture. Actually, I don’t think a lot of people at the party recognize him. I do realize that some younger folks are probably not familiar with his legacy, but I was still surprised.

Even though it was loud in the room, and he didn’t seem like he was interested in doing an interview; I still asked him a couple of questions. We briefly talked about the new generations of rappers, Kanye West and 2Pac. Check out our conversation below.

Black Truth News: I know people always ask the pioneers about the current state of Hip Hop. More than anything  I want to know how you feel about the transition hip hop is making.

Ed Lover: I don’t have any problems with what was going on. I think it’s cool that the Lil dudes are out here getting their money. By all means, make it happen. I think it’s fantastic.

BTN: What are your thoughts on Kanye West?

Ed Lover:  I think son is the ultimate troll. I think niggas in Chicago need to stand on him. I think what he is doing is a disgrace. If he was up north, niggas would have been regulated on him. I think what he is has done is unacceptable

BTN: I want to thank you because I wrote an article about some of the things missing from the 2Pac “All Eyez on Me” movie. I used some of your interviews as a reference to state some facts about Pac. What do you think about some of the misconceptions surrounding him?

Ed Lover: They saying all of that because they didn’t know Pac. I knew him, I knew son. I was there so I’m able to talk about him. I knew Pac for real and he was my friend. They didn’t know son but I did.

BTN: They didn’t even put Yo-Yo in the film.

Ed Lover: As I said, they didn’t know Pac. It is a lot of facts about his life that I know; he was my friend

BTN: Yo! MTV Raps was a big part of me growing up and I thought your freestyles were dope and your dance was great

Ed Lover: I appreciate that and I’m still trying to keep it going
