BTN: Dominic are you producing all the tracks?
Dominic: Well Mista Policeman was produced overseas by my homie named Drax, straight from the “Mother Land” Africa; and the rest by me.
BTN: Is there a theme on this EP?
Dale: The thing about it is that the EP is called “It’s about time.” The first single is called Mista Policeman, and the second single is called “Life of a Good Man.” That right there tells you a whole lot, and from there you can imagine where we going to go with it, but the titles are going to tell you a lot.
Dominic: In 2012, we dropped a mixtape called ‘Coming Soon: The Essence of Hip Hop.’ So what’s coming soon is the album and the EP is in between and it’s called ‘It’s about time.’ We got Coming Soon, It’s about time, and then the title of the album corresponds with that. But we can give you the title or details about that yet.
BTN: You guys are at a level where you are presenting a brand and trying to make an impact. Can you explain the mental, and physical grind and preparation to get to this level?
Dominic: If you remember the old days, we are all about artist development. We have been in the studio for about five years, just prepping the music; so it is all about quality over quantity.
Dale: And the grind started ever since we came out of the mother’s womb. We came out and we learned every day. So everything we learn we put in our songs; going through music and what we been through. So the grind has always been there, the grind was there before we even got here; because a lot of things we talk about were happening before we got here. The grind kind of comes from the Black man’s perspective or the life we living and how we are portrayed.
Dominic: If you listen to us when were 22, and just now dropped the official EP when we were 27 and 28. Some records that were made back then, we felt like doing something else that would represent us as well. We wanted to be represented as leaders and not just as entertainers. We are trying to make that difference.
