Erica Garner was no holds barred in her criticism of de Blasio, a Democrat who took heat from the police department for supporting the Black Lives Matter movement.
“Just cause you love Black p—y don’t mean you love Black lives… cc @BilldeBlasio,” Garner tweeted to the mayor, making a reference to his wife, Chirlane McCray, who is African American.
“God has a way of exposing fraud … Bill De Blasio can say whatever he wants. Black people here get no justice in his administration in NYC,” the 26 year old added.
The city’s decision to withhold disciplinary records on NYPD officer Daniel Pantaleo has sparked outrage among police reform activists, including Garner’s family. On Dec. 3, 2014, a grand jury declined to bring charges against Pantaleo, despite the death being filmed on video.
Since then, Erica Garner has been a voice for not only her family, but the fight against police violence and racial profiling.
Despite the criticism, Mayor de Blasio claims he’s barred from releasing the records because of a state law that the NYPD and the city ignored for nearly 30 years.
Erica declined to accept his explanation, accusing him of “covering up this modern day lynching by their henchman!”
