Federal Judge Orders Trump to Restore CNN Reporter’s Press Pass

CNN filed a federal lawsuit against President Trump and his top White House aides after the White House revoked Acosta’s “hard pass” which gives him access to the White House.

On Friday, a D.C. District Court judge ruled the White House must restore Acosta’s “hard pass”.

Judge Timothy Kelly, who was appointed by Trump, granted CNN’s request for a temporary restraining order.

“I want to thank all of my colleagues in the press who supported us this week, and I want to thank the judge for the decision he made today,” Acosta told reporters outside U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C.

“Let’s go back to work!” he added.

White House aides have not said whether they will appeal the judge’s ruling.

While they agree that Acosta can be cantankerous and rude, News analysts agree that the White House should not have pulled Acosta’s pass.

They cite former President Barack Obama who refused to call on certain Fox News reporters during his press conferences in the White House briefing room.
