For the second year in a row the NFL has been by spun by a top performer for its Super Bowl Halftime show. Also for the second time the rejection comes in response to the NFL’s treatment of Colin Kaepernick. Last year Jay-Z turned down an offer to perform in the Super Bowl and spoke about it in the ApeShit song with Beyonce. “I said no to the Super Bowl: you need me, I don’t need you. Every night we in the endzone, tell the NFL we in stadiums too.” he spits.

This year it seems that Rihanna has followed in the footsteps of Jay-Z by turning down the opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime show. According to reports, she refused because she disagrees with the NFL’s stance on Colin Kaepernick. Her show of solidarity with Kaepernick has made the NFL once again find a new performer. This year they have selected Maroon 5. No official comment has come from Rihanna or her representatives.
