Florida Police Defend their Actions at a Block Party that drew over 3,000 People

Volusia County Sheriff office in Florida released a video of a block party in which an estimated 3,000 people attended. The event took place on May 16th and was a party/memorial for a man who was murdered in 2008. Some of the people at the event accused the police officers of racial profiling and unlawfully arresting people. Volusia County Sheriff police Mike Chitwood went on Twitter and defended his police officers while we dismissing the notion that the police were racist.

“I don’t accept the accusations that we’re racists, or that our actions Saturday were racially motivated. It’s not true, and it’s not a fair conclusion from the video,” Chitwood said. Check out the video below and to read more about this story click here.
