Last Thursday, a Florida judge sentenced a woman to 30 days in jail for purposely coughing on a customer at a Pier One sore. Debra Hunter, 53, will have serve time at Duval County Jail, followed by six months of probation, an anger management course and a $500 fine for second-degree assault, a misdemeanor.
Hunter was caught on camera coughing on Heather Sprague after the two had a verbal altercation. Sprague – who was undergoing treatment after the removal of a brain tumor – and has 10 children, said the incident left her worried about her health and her family.
