As free condom programs are on the rise in high schools across America, the idea of having contraceptives close to hormonal teenagers may just promote underage sex. Although condoms protect against sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy, having them close to a classroom may be sending the wrong kind of signals to students. Free condom programs are already in cities like New York, Boston, and Philadelphia. Now, Chicago high schools are in the spotlight as free condoms will be available for more students there in the near future.
