At the end of the Versuz battle between Jeezy and Gucci; Jeezy made the proclamation that “JAY Z and Nas watch out!” For Hip Hop and entertainment fans alike, that statement brought a ray of hope to what the future may hold for the culture. Similar to JAY Z and Nas, Jeezy and Gucci has had beef. There have been diss songs and interviews that have documented the bad blood between the two.
It might have been a lot more personal circumstances that surrounded Jeezy and Gucci beef. However, if they follow the path of JAY Z and Nas, it will end on a positive note. The Versuz battle last week between the two was a good start to that ending. There were some verbal jabs that could have made the event go left. Despite the visible tension that was present throughout the night, in the end the two were able to put their differences behind. This doesn’t mean the two will be the best of friends, but it opens the door that two might can work together in the future.
To go from conflict, dislike, to coexisting to the point where you are able to prosper together is huge. Not only for Hip Hop but for the Black community and Black Men. We call that behavior “grown man-ish” and “getting to the bag.” I applaud Gucci and Jeezy for doing both.
