How much protein do you need?

As I stated in my first book “Confessions of The Personal Trainer”  The building block to muscle is protein and protein makes up almost 15% of the human body.  The question that always comes up is how much protein does one need on a daily basis?      ·         56 grams per day for the average sedentary man. ·         46 grams per day for the average sedentary woman   Those are general numbers that I found on multiple health web sites.  The real answer is “what are you trying to accomplish?”.
