I Never Thought Anyone Would Break Michael Jordan’s Double Digit Scoring Record

For 15 straight years of his playing career, Michael Jordan scored in double figures in a game. To be exact it was from the 1986 season until the 2001 season. A grand total of 866 consecutive games of coming to the arena and at the very least, scoring 10 points. In my opinion, it was one of the most impressive records in sports. I used to jokingly say that when Jordan showed up to the arena, the scorekeeper would automatically give him ten points. It was a record that I thought would never be broken. That was until last night, when I heard that LeBron James tied Jordan’s double digit scoring record against the Charlotte Hornets. Coincidentally, he tied the record against the team that Jordan owns. For now, the record belongs to Jordan and LeBron, but I can’t imagine a scenario where LeBrom plays his next game and not get ten points. Of course, there is the possibility of getting hurt before he reaches the milestone. However, from my observation of LeBron, he probably will come out and get ten points in the first quarter. He may score his team’s first ten points, just to secure it. Mr. James has a keen sense of history and how his stats measures up to the all-time greats. Trust me, he will not miss the opportunity to break Jordan’s scoring record. With that said, it seems my old joke has been revitalized in 2018. If LeBron James comes to your city and walks in the arena, regardless if he is sick or if even he doesn’t play, you can still book him for ten points. Guaranteed.
