Sadat X and his rap group Brand Nubians arrived on the music scene in the 1990’s. The three man group that also included Lord Jamar and Grand Puba was known for hits like “Slow Down” and “Punks Jump up to Get Beat Down”.

During a recent trip to the barbershop, I was lucky enough to bump into Sadat X and hear about his new album, his thoughts on today’s hip hop scene, and also his advice to the artists and young people coming up after him.
