Interview with Brand Nubians Sadat X

Black Truth News: How have you adjusted your grind? Because with the presence of the internet, the game has changed somewhat; How have you infiltrate the new market?

Sadat X: One thing I tell a lot of the older rappers is that you can’t stop the advancement of time; you understand. You either get with the times and when I say “get with”; I mean somewhat adapt to the times or you get rolled over. So basically what I done is just learn how to use those outlets, that internet stuff, to reach more of the people that’s my age, that’s enjoying my music. But now, I got better system to reach them, I can reach my people in the “Chi”, I can reach my people in Europe, Germany and France that’s on my same level. So now it’s little easier than before, because at first we didn’t have that; people had to wait until they saw something, now with the technology, if I put something out today in New York, it’s going be in the Chi the same minute and overseas the same minute as well.

Black Truth News: Do you have any advice for the young people that’s coming up and trying to do some of the things you have already done?

Sadat X:  You know people always asking me why you just walking around in the hood. I am like this is the environment I come from. I been to prison, I been stabbed, I been out here doing the same thing these young people out here doing. And unless you like someone telling you what to do and when to do it; you need to stay away from that lifestyle. If you like for someone to tell you when to wake up and when to eat, then by all means, prison is for you.
I try to tell these young people that they are eliminating a lot of our jobs out the community. They are filling a lot of these prisons with our brothers and sisters. It’s time to educate ourselves on the consequences of our action and do better.
Black Truth News: Can you tell the people when they can expect that new album?

Sadat X: The new album is called Love Hell or Right and it will be dropping December 4th
