Interview with Wu-Tang Clan: Talks about Of Mics and Men Documentary and Lifelong Brotherhood

The guy affectionately they call “Golden Arms” is probably the least heralded out of the group. His lack of popularity is probably why he was the most accessible, but that’s was fine with me. I asked him how it feels to know his music has transcended generations. He talked about how the group has maintained and remained relevant after all these years.

While I was talking with U-God, I saw Ghostface Killah taking pictures with some fans. When I was done with the interview, I saw Ghost getting on the cart and riding away. That means that I am 3 for 6 in the interview department for the group.

I never saw Cappadonna and when I saw Masta Killa, it was from a distance riding away to his trailer. My quest to interview Method Man ended in disappointment. He was the last one to come off the stage, he walked off the ramp, shook a hand, took a picture and got on the cart and rode away. The footage of him riding past me was the only thing I got.

I’m not going to lie, I was salty. I felt like running behind that ride and demanding an interview, afterward, I saw YDB walking by himself and chopped it up with him for a second. I didn’t record our conversation, but I wanted to tell him personally what his dad meant to me and how I was proud that he was carrying his tradition

His response seemed surprised and thankful to hear that. The young bastard favors his dad but his personality is different. When you see him on stage he tries his best to channel the energy and spirit of ODB and for what it’s worth; he does a good job. On the other hand, while talking to him, you can tell he is more reserved and tamed than his dad.

In conclusion, I still felt grateful to get some of the Clan members to talk to me. I remain confident that this was a stepping stone to getting the entire group to interview with me at once. Until then, I thank everyone who read this and shared this experience with me. For those that have been keeping count, that’s 10 members-4 interviews. Better luck next time; Peace!
