Is Chicago as Bad as they Say?

The influxes of police officers are mostly placed on the west and south sides of the city. This is logical because most of the violence occurs within Austin, Humboldt, and Englewood communities, but is it necessary? Is it necessary to treat the city as a war zone and the citizens as refugees in their own communities?

The reason I bring this up is that I think the media attention that is placed on every homicide that occurs in Chicago makes the police more overzealous and puts pressure on the administration to lock every nigga up they see walking the street. I think this is the true plan; to make a modern-day slavery system acceptable to the masses. First, they place blue lights on every corner in the hood, saying it would prevent major crimes from happening, but nothing has changed. Nothing has changed because the solution does not fit the problem. The problem is a lack of resources for the young people; there are no outlets, no recreational or educational facilities that are accessible within their areas. All you see is police and people doing their best to avoid them. I do think some measure needs to take to prevent the senseless violence that occurs amongst the youth within the city, but I don’t think putting them in cages is the solution.
