Today (March 14th) the Israeli military opened fire on Palestinian citizens protesting the opening of the US Embassy in Jerusalem. Over 50 people were killed, including eight children who demonstrated along the Gaza border. “We condemn in the strongest term the atrocity by the Israeli occupying forces using this massive firepower against civilians who have the right to demonstrate peacefully, and they have been demonstrating peacefully,” said Riyad Mansour, the Palestinian ambassador to the United Nations. Mansour added that since March 30, nearly 100 Palestinians have been killed and more than 11,000 injured in protests along the Gaza border. The Palestinian people have been opposed to the opening of the US Embassy in Jerusalem because they view East Jerusalem as the capital of their future state. To read more about this story click here.
