Following the news that actress Ja’Net DuBois passed away, Janet Jackson paid her respect. Ja’Net played Janet’s mom on the iconic sitcom ‘Good Times’ in the ’70s. It was the first acting role for Janet Jackson who played the character, Penny. “I am so very saddened to hear my longtime friend Ja’Net DuBois has passed away. I saw firsthand how she broke stereotypes and changed the landscape for Black women in entertainment,” she said. DuBois’s death was sudden and there were no previous signs of illness, she was 74.
