Jung Youth Interview w/ Black Truth News

Nashville rapper Jung Youth new album “Yada Yada” could be described as a concept album. He took the time to work solely with Tennessee producer Central Parks on the project. The duo combined to tell a story through the 17 tracks and that was the plan according to Jung Youth. “We recorded all 17 of the project’s tracks in one sitting and it just all blended together organically. At the end of the day I would say it is appropriate to call Yada Yada a concept album–we worked very hard to tell this story while simultaneously paying homage and having fun in the process.” Jung said. He stopped by to talk more about the album and plans for the future. Check the interview below.

Who do you think has been the single biggest influence on your rap style and in what way?

I am the single biggest influence on my rap style because I can rap whatever and however I want, as long as it fits the style that I am trying to capture. First and foremost, I am a songwriter and everything I do is for the sake of the song. Some of my biggest musical influences are Thom Yorke from Radiohead, Jimi Hendrix, Nas and OutKast, but people have told me that I sound like Curren$y, Mac Miller, AZ, Eminem, Jay Z, Drake and a bunch of others. I’m not trying to be a style chameleon or culture vulture by any means–I just do what feels right and always try to evolve.
