“Jamie is tired of being pressured by Katie into going public. He’s asked for a few months out and made no promise he’ll be available after that,” a source allegedly told the gossip site.
“It’s heartbreaking for Katie, who would marry him in a heartbeat if he were keen,” the insider reportedly said. “She’s hoping he’ll change his mind and come running back, which to be fair he’s done numerous times before.”
Radar also pointed to a recent photo of Jamie heading out to dinner at a restaurant in Los Angeles with a blonde woman as evidence of his split from Katie.
“Jamie wants to continue to act like the carefree guy he is in public,” the website’s source is quoted as saying. “Eventually, the question had to come about whether he was committed enough to the relationship.”
But was there a romantic relationship between the two to begin with?
While neither actor’s rep has commented, GossipCop has already denied the split report, blasting Radar for perpetuating rumors of a “fictional” and “non-existent” relationship.
It also seems a bit fishy that Radar now claims Jamie dumped Katie because he didn’t go public, given that the same site claimed last month the pair have kept their relationship a secret because of a clause in Katie’s 2012 divorce settlement with Tom Cruise that prevents her from publicly dating for five years.
Still, there have been signs since 2013 that the two are, in fact, dating. In January, Katie began wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger. And in June, Jamie’s longtime friend Claudia Jordan confirmed the relationship.
“He is very happy with her,” the former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star said on the “Allegedly” podcast when asked about the relationship rumors. “I like that he seems very happy,” she added.
Less than a day later, Claudia amended her statement, telling the press she “misspoke” in describing the alleged romance.
Either way, we’re likely to see more of both Katie and Jamie in 2017, when each actor’s slated to appear in a handful of new film and TV projects. Since 2017 also marks the end of Katie’s supposed five-year ban on public romance, we gotta wonder if a special someone will be on her arm when she hits the red carpet for her “Kennedys After Camelot” premiere.
