Kendrick Lamar Keeps at No. 1 on Billboard Artist 100

The Artist 100 (which launched in July 2014) measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.

Lamar logs his fourth total week atop the Artist 100, as his new LP DAMN. spends a second week atop the Billboard 200 with 239,000 equivalent album units in the week ending April 27, according to Nielsen Music. That’s a drop of 60 percent from its debut frame a week earlier (603,000). Still, DAMN.’s second-week haul is the fourth-largest of 2017, following the set’s debut week and the arrivals of Drake‘s More Life (505,000) and Ed Sheeran‘s ÷ (451,000) .

For a second week, album sales account for the greatest share (44 percent) of Lamar’s total Artist 100 chart points.

Rounding out the Artist 100’s top five, Ed Sheeran holds at No. 2 and Bruno Mars (4-3, as his “That’s What I Like” takes over at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100), Drake (5-4) and The Chainsmokers (6-5) all ascend a notch.
