Maybe the doubts surrounding the severity of Kevin Durant injury got to him last night. There were rumors amongst his own teammates and other members in the Golden State organization that he wasn’t giving full effort to come back on the court. ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith stated that Durant was “hell bent” on coming back and proving that “he had heart.” Whatever the case may be, he decided to play last night in game 5 of the NBA Finals. The superstar player only played 12 minutes before reinjuring his leg early his second quarter.  The diagnosis after the game showed he had a torn Achilles in his right leg. That is not good news. It is the same injury that derailed the careers of other NBA stars like Elton Brand, Dominique Wilkins and Kobe Bryant.
