For a person who had just hit a buzzer beating, game winning shot to win the championship; Kris Jenkins wasn’t that excited. He calmly step into the 3 point shot to seal the game, turned around and held up three fingers to the crowd. Within seconds his whole team mobbed him and Villanova was the 2016 NCAA Men’s Basketball Champion. “Big Smooth” is his nickname, a name that also belonged to Sam Perkins of the Los Angeles Lakers. He definitely lived up to that name on Tuesday in one of the best tournament games in the history of the sport. I had no favorites in the tournament, but seeing the great Michael Jordan and being reminded of the mystique of Carolina made me root for them. But in the end, Villanova deserved to be called the champs; they earned the crown. And in the meanwhile gave sports fans something to talk about for a long time.
